NBA Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins stopped by For The Win earlier this month to talk about his career, basketball today and managing his diabetes.

Wilkins, whose play during his career with the Hawks earned him the nickname the ‘Human Highlight Film’ said it was something that despite the highlight-worthy play of Blake Griffin, Kevin Durant and LeBron James in today’s game he didn’t want to share.

“I like to own that name solely by myself,” he said.

Wilkins was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes shortly after his playing career and came to USA TODAY to talk about his new program with Novo Nordisk that he hopes can help people manage their disease through a Dream Team support network program. The program will launch later this month.
