ATLANTA, Ga. (CBS Atlanta) – Freddie the Falcon, the Atlanta Falcons’ mascot, had to issue an apology after a tweet he made which compared his team’s season to needed suicide prevention.
“Had a good time at the #ood suicide prevention walk today. I may need to go back if out season continues the way it is.”
The tweet was posted after the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention walk on Sunday.
That tweet was deleted and Freddie apologized. “I am truly sorry for my inappropriate and insensitive twee. It was in poor taste,” Freddie tweeted Sunday evening after the game.
