This is what I just can’t wrap my head around. In the last two weeks we have had the big comeback against the Celtics followed by a loss to the Knicks. A 1-point win against a Raptors team that just traded away some if its best players. A blowout lost to the Bulls who were missing some of its best players from injuries (Hey! At least we scored more than last time). A loss to a good Pacers team. A win against a good Grizzlies team. Then a loss to a bad Hornets team.
I love this team and know that each team goes through winning and losing streaks but the Hawks have the same problems every night. I do not think they show good energy throughout the game, they slack off: either giving up a lead at halftime with a horrible 3rd quarter or starting out bad and having to come back from huge deficits like in the Celtics game where they went down by 29 and came back and took a lead and then gave it right back up but were able to hold on for the win. I know they have had to deal with injuries but every team has to deal with injuries. This was a team that was announcing that without Joe Johnson they would be able to afford better depth so they would be able to deal with this.
They are in 6th place in the Eastern Conference and this season was supposed to be almost a lost season waiting for this offseason with the free agents available and cash to spend. But come on as fans we all say that we understand and we will be fine with one bad season as long as it sets up for success for several years but going through the season is hard. But I do enjoy roller coasters and can’t wait to see what is in store for the 2nd half of the season.
